Erika was born and raised in Richmond, VA and attended Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University while pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in clinical psychology. She worked for several years in the mental health field with foster children and at-risk youth in Richmond and Petersburg.

Erika joined New York Life as an agent in 2023 where she immediately discovered a passion for helping families succeed through an array of financial strategies. This passion helped drive many early professional achievements, including qualifying for Executive Council² in 2023 and 2024, several Agent of the Month awards, and achieving 2023 New Agent of the Year. Erika transitioned into leadership in 2024 as a Partner where she now recruits and develops her own team of financial services professionals.

Erika has been supported throughout her journey by her life partner, Shawntay, and they raised an amazing son together. They are looking forward to getting married in February of 2025. Erika joined the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber to help create an inclusive, safe space based on equality so that her team and clients could achieve their personal and professional financial goals, starting right here in her hometown.
